Lifting straps are something I didn't previously bother with. However, I have been finding that my weight in some things (deadlifts, rowing) is being limited by grip strength. The wisdom seems to be that straps avoids progression on the big muscle grounds being limited by hand strength.I thought these looked good as they offer both a good degree of wrist padding for comfort, plus additional metal rings to permit cable work.Positives first: Hardy materials and plenty of stitching to secure everything. I'll never wear these out. The Velcro fastening is quick and easy to adjust over a good size range. The metal rings look amply strong enough to handle any weight I'll be using for things like cable flys. The strap itself (which wraps round the bar) is stitched with a rubberised thread, which increases friction and grip. There's even a little loop to allow the strap to be tucked out of the way during cable use.Are they perfect? For some users they just might be, but it will depend partly on hand and wrist size. I find the width of the wrist cuff to be quite deep. I wear a fitness tracker during weight sessions and these straps make it difficult- see picture. I also feel the width of the straps is wider than it really needs to be, making wrapping the bar more difficult than it needs to be. In part this is down to my small hand size, so larger users will certainly feel happier. For myself, these are better suited to ankle use and cable work. Scoring these as 4 Star just because of way they fit me. As a I said, other users may find the size ideal.Overall: Sturdy, well put together. Quick, easy, secure adjustment. Good grip.Bulky if your only use is lifting. Buy these if you're looking for cable attachment.
