This weighted vest is designed as a one-size-fits-all solution. The adjustable, padded straps provide a secure fit, and the vest sits comfortably on the upper torso and shoulders. It works well for running, complete with reflective strips, and can be worn over clothing or directly against the body, although wearing it over clothes is advisable for sweat management. It is also machine washable and retains its smart black appearance after washing. The core value comes from the ten removable weight blocks, each weighing 0.96 kg, allowing you to build up to a total of 10 kg distributed evenly across your body. The vest remains comfortable over long distances, and the added resistance supports strength development in the knees and other muscle groups as you carry the extra load.Reinforced stitching keeps the blocks secure and minimises bounce while moving, making this an excellent training aid. The ability to increase the load gradually, one block at a time, is a particular advantage. Overall, it offers strong value for money, though an additional running-vest-style pocket for a phone or similar item would be a welcome enhancement.
I have been using this weighted vest for about a week and it has fitted into my circuit training routine very well indeed. The first thing that stood out was the build quality. It feels substantial the moment you pick it up. The padding across the shoulders is generous and makes a real difference once the full set of iron blocks is loaded. The straps are long, grippy and hold firmly around the chest, and there is a lot of stitching throughout, which gives the whole vest a very solid feel. The blocks themselves are proper iron with rounded corners, so there are no sharp edges to worry about, and you can add or remove them one at a time.I upgraded from a five kilogram vest and the step up to ten kilograms is more than enough for what I do. In the gym it stays very stable. There is a slight bounce, which is unavoidable with any weighted vest, but this one keeps movement to a minimum and sits close to the body once adjusted. I am not a runner so I cannot say how it performs for that, but for circuit work it is ideal. It is not a cheap item, but given the materials and overall construction, I expect it to last for many years. I am very pleased with it and feel it is worth the money.
Ive been using this vest to help ease myself into a squat and deadlift routine. Since most barbells start at 20kg, it can be quite a jump from just doing body-weight exercises and holding onto weights can adversely affect correct technique. This vest has been perfect for gradually increasing the weight. Its not all that bulky despite having lots of 1kg blocks strapped to it. I can still bend for squats and deadlifts because the vest tops quite high up, like a tank top.The weights are little blocks of iron and are held in place with little velcro pockets. They are really easy to take out if needed. The padding on the straps is good for comfort.Im a small woman (50kg, 51) and it fits me just fine. My husband is much bigger than me (80kg, 6) and it adjusts to fit him perfectly.Im really pleased with the quality. Its well made, the velcro is strong, as is the stitching.
My other half has been wearing this on his hikes, etc.He likes that the weights can be removed. He says it's ok to wear. It fits him well.He seems to like it. He has mentioned any discomfort etc.
This is a really decent weighted vest for the price. I got the 10\text{kg} one, and it feels very sturdy and well-made, not cheap or flimsy at all.The best part is how comfortable it is when you're actually moving. It doesn't bounce around too much when you're running or doing squats, and it's easy to adjust the straps across the chest to get a tight fit. It's listed for men and women, and it adjusted fine for me. Good reflective striping on it too for when it's dark outside. Definitely a great bit of gear for taking your home workouts up a notch!
